Facebook Scraper API: Profiles, Posts, Comments and Groups
A Facebook scraper API turns publicly visible pages, posts, comments, groups, events, Marketplace listings, and ads into structured JSON. It is useful when your application needs public Facebook data but does not own the target page or cannot ask every page administrator to authorize a Meta app.
CreatorCrawl now exposes 22 Facebook REST paths through the same API key and credit balance used for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and Reddit.
Test a Facebook profile without code
Paste a public page URL into the free Facebook Profile Viewer. It returns the page name, category, follower count, likes, public contact fields, and Ad Library status without requiring a Facebook login.
For bulk or scheduled work, call the API.
curl "https://app.creatorcrawl.com/api/facebook/profile?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fnatgeo" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"
The response uses the standard CreatorCrawl envelope:
{
"data": {
"id": "20531316728",
"name": "National Geographic",
"url": "https://www.facebook.com/natgeo",
"category": "Media/news company",
"followerCount": 50000000,
"likeCount": 45000000
},
"meta": {
"platform": "facebook",
"fetched_at": "2026-08-31T10:00:00.000Z"
}
}

The full Facebook API hub also covers events, Marketplace, and the Meta Ad Library.
Scrape Facebook posts with pagination
Page post responses contain a cursor when another page is available. Send it back unchanged.
import requests
base_url = "https://app.creatorcrawl.com/api/facebook/profile/posts"
headers = {"x-api-key": "YOUR_API_KEY"}
params = {"url": "https://www.facebook.com/natgeo"}
while True:
response = requests.get(base_url, headers=headers, params=params, timeout=30)
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()["data"]
for post in payload.get("posts", []):
print(post.get("publishTime"), post.get("text"))
cursor = payload.get("cursor")
if not cursor:
break
params["cursor"] = cursor
Facebook currently limits this upstream page feed to a small number of posts per page. Treat pagination as part of the normal workflow instead of assuming one response contains the whole timeline.
Scrape comments faster with feedback IDs
You can request comments with a post URL, but the post detail endpoint also returns a feedback_id. Passing that identifier to the comments endpoint avoids resolving the post URL again.
curl "https://app.creatorcrawl.com/api/facebook/post/comments?feedback_id=FEEDBACK_ID" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"
Comment rows include text, creation time, reaction count, reply count, and author details when Facebook exposes them. Use the comment’s feedback_id and expansion_token with the replies endpoint to continue into a thread.
Official Meta API or public-data API?
Use the Meta Pages API when users connect pages they own and your product needs official permissions, publishing, or page management.
Use a public-data API when you need to read arbitrary public pages, competitor posts, public groups, or Marketplace listings without asking the target to authorize your app. CreatorCrawl is read-only. It does not publish posts, manage ads, or access private content.
Common Facebook scraper use cases
- Monitor competitor page growth and posting activity.
- Export public comments for customer-language research.
- Collect Reel and post metrics for creator analysis.
- Watch public groups for category questions and trends.
- Feed public Facebook data into an internal dashboard or AI workflow.
Start with the free Facebook Profile Viewer, then get an API key when you need repeatable JSON requests.
